“Dial and let others smile” (Post 64)

I spent time today with a new friend who is helping me with a project and later I had a few phone conversations with local and international friends. These uplifting conversations made me think of a Biblical illustration I made on paper (more than two decades ago) with the old-fashioned mapping pen that is dipped into the ink pot. Our happiness is usually linked to our friends (or kind people); when we share our ideas and experiences, and we wish each other well, we experience a surge in our energy levels and hope and joy will be flooding in.
Sometimes, all it takes is just a phone call. Many applications allow us to make free phone calls, so why not use these to "light up" a few friends? We may brighten the eyes of our friends by giving them “good news”. Dial and let others smile.

The coloured work is an oil on board drawing I made in 1997. I drew the lines with a colour shaper. (A colour shaper looks like a brush but it has a rubber tip.)
